What are Trinity Music Exams?
Founded in 1872, Trinity College London is one of the world's leading music examination boards. Unlike exams that reward rote memorisation, Trinity assesses musicality: tone, expression, and how convincingly you communicate through your instrument.

For the team at Guitarra Music Academy, music is a lifestyle, not a shortcut. Our Trinity-aligned curriculum builds a professional standard of music literacy and staff notation - the language of musicians - recognised in over 60 countries.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. 1 My child has never taken a music exam before, where do we start?
We start with a free assessment to place your child at the right grade, usually Initial or Grade 1 for complete beginners and build a personalised prep timeline from there.
Q2. What's the difference between the digital and face-to-face exam?
Digital exams are a recorded video submission and can be taken year-round on your own schedule. Face-to-face exams are in person at the Trinity Pune centre we're affiliated with, held during Trinity's seasonal exam windows.
Q3. Do you handle the Trinity registration and paperwork?
Yes, completely. From filling out the registratio to submitting repertoire choices, to coordinating exam-day logistics, we manage the entire process for you.
Q4. Can adults take Trinity guitar exams?
Absolutely, there's no upper age limit. We've helped students as young as 7 and as old as 70 prepare for and pass their Trinity exams.
Q5. How long does it take to prepare for a grade?
It depends on the student's starting point and the grade, but most students prepare for one grade over 6–9 months of consistent weekly lessons, including mock exams closer to the date.
Q6. Why does it matter that Mayank sir is preparing for his own ATCL diploma?
ATCL (Associate of Trinity College London) is a performance diploma set above Grade 8, at first-year undergraduate recital standard. It means your mentor is actively performing and being examined at a level well beyond what he teaches, so your child is learning from someone who lives the standard, not just teaches it.
